Why you should learn Bass

Bass: The perfect marriage of drums and harmony. It is less physically challenging than the guitar, as the strings are bigger, the frets are further apart (giving you much larger “targets”) and you usually only play one note at a time. The role in most music is just as important to the rhythmic foundation as the drums, but it possesses and incredibly massive influence over the harmony and thus the emotion of the music. I describe it as a perfect marriage of “melodic drums”. There are no real specific challenges or downsides that I can think of!
